7 Foods that Burn Fat

Body fat is an ugly truth of life for most Indian men.Our lifestyle is such that it becomes almost impossible to avoid it.
Just sweating out in the gym day and night is not enough to reach your goal of losing your body fat when your mother is busy feeding you the butter-laced alooka parantha. Along with a healthy workout, food also plays a crucial role in reducing body fat.

Here are 7 foods that help in burning fat.

1. Eggs

Eggs are know to be high in protein which burns fat faster than other fatty foods.  It also contains vitamin B12, 8 minerals, iron, calcium and other macronutrients, which aid the body in metabolizing fat.

2. Fish

Instead of reaching for your chicken curry next time, try opting for fish.  Like eggs , fish is also a protein - rich food that burns more fat while being digested instead of carbohydrates or fats.  They also contain Omega 3s which prevent the build-up of stress chemicals that induce fat abs especially tuna, salmon, mackerel, swordfish and flounder.

3. Green Tea

Green tea is almost like a magical drink that has the power to keep most health problems at bay.  It keeps those extra inches away by preventing fats from getting absorbed by the body.   Drinking a cup of green tea everyday goes a long way in helping you achieve a healthy life.

4. Oatmeal

Oatmeal not only helps in cutting down the fat content but its rich fiber content helps in the reduction of cholesterol.  It also stays for a longer period in the stomach which takes care of your hunder pangs.  However, its better to opt for a natural sweetener like honey instead of sugar.

5. Dairy Products

Dairy products are rich in calcium which is very effective in burning fat and even preventing its formation in the body.  The amount of calcium in a person's body indicates how easily one gains fat.  The more calcium present in your body,  the easier it is to burn all the excess fat.

6. Berries

Berries, as we all know, are fiber-rich fruits. Raspberries are said to contain 8 grams of fiber in a cup. Strawberries have lower sugar content than other fruits while also being rich in in Vitamin C, which boosts metabolism in the body.Berries also have another component called pectin which force the fats to release their fat cells.

7. Green Vegetables

Green Vegetables have been tried and tested in their various health benefits. You should stop trying to shrink away from adding them into your diet as they have the power to reduce your waist size. Amongst the green vegetables, give special attention to spinach, cabbage and beans. Including a lot of salads into your everyday meal plan means getting closer to reducing the body's fat absorption. 25 easy ways to fit in 10 minutes of excercise

Stolen Moments Add Up
Experts recommend working out 45 minutes to an hour a day (30 minutes for beginners) for weight loss and fitness. But if you're like most women, you don't always have a block of 30 to 60 minutes a day to devote exclusively to doing your workouts.
Lets you think that short bursts of activity have a negligible effect on your fitness program, think again. One study found that women who split their exercise into 10-minute increments were more likely to exercise consistently, and lost more weight after 5 months, than women who exercised for 20 to 40 minutes at a time.
In a landmark study conducted at the University of Virginia, exercise physiologist Glenn Gaesser, PhD, asked men and women to complete 15 10-minute exercise routines a week. After just 21 days, the volunteers' aerobic fitness was equal to that of people 10 to 15 years younger. Their strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility were equal to those of people up to 20 years their junior. "It would be useful for people to get out of the all-or-nothing mind-set that unless they exercise for 30 minutes, they're wasting their time," says Gaesser.
Breaking exercise into small chunks on your overscheduled days can also keep your confidence up, since skipping it altogether can make you feel tired, guilty, or depressed. Keep in mind, though, that short bursts of exercise are meant to supplement, not replace, your regular fitness routine.
Here's a roundup of practical ways to work exercise into your day even when you "don't have time to exercise" (You don't have to do them all in 1 day; select what works for you):
Around the House
1. When you go outside to pick up your morning newspaper, take a brisk 5-minute power walk up the street in one direction and back in the other.
2. If you're housebound caring for a sick child or grandchild, hop on an exercise bike or do a treadmill workout while your ailing loved one naps.
3. Try 5 to 10 minutes of jumping jacks. (A 150-pound woman can burn 90 calories in one 10-minute session.)
4. Cooking dinner? Do standing push-ups while you wait for a pot to boil. Stand about an arm's length from the kitchen counter, and push your arms against the counter. Push in and out to get toned arms and shoulders.
5. After dinner, go outside and play tag or shoot baskets with your kids and their friends.
6. Just before bed or while you're giving yourself a facial at night, do a few repetitions of some dumbbell exercises, suggests exercise instructor Sheila Cluff, owner and founder of The Oaks at Ojai and The Palms, in Palm Springs, CA, who keeps a set of free weights on a shelf in front of her bathroom sink.

While Waiting
7. Walk around the block several times while you wait for your child to take a music lesson. As your fitness level improves, add 1-minute bursts of jogging to your walks.
8. Walk around medical buildings if you have a long wait for a doctor's appointment. "I always ask the receptionist to give me an idea of how long I have left to wait," Cluff says. "Most are usually very willing to tell you."
9. While your son or daughter plays a soccer game, walk around the field.
10. Turn a trip to a park with your child into a mini-workout for you. Throw a ball back and forth and run for fly balls.

At Work
11. Walk to work if you can. "I walked to work for months, 1 1/2 miles each way," says Mary Dallman, PhD, professor of physiology at the University of California, San Francisco, and she really saw results.
12. If you dine out on your lunch hour, walk to a restaurant on a route that takes you a little bit out of your way.
13. If you have a meeting in another building, leave 5 or 10 minutes early (or take some time afterward), and do some extra walking.
14. On breaks, spend 5 to 10 minutes climbing stairs.
15. If you're pressed for time and must wait for an elevator, strengthen your core with ab exercises. Stand with your feet parallel and your knees relaxed. Contract the muscles around your belly button. Then elevate your upper torso, and release. Finally, contract your buttocks for a few seconds.
16. Use a ringing phone as an excuse to stretch your back. Stand with your feet astride. Imagine that you are encased in a plaster cast from your waist to your head. Gently tilt the lower part of your pelvis backward. Contract your abdominal muscles. Then gently tilt your pelvis forward.

When You're Watching TV
17. Put away your remote and change channels the old-fashioned way--by getting up and walking to the television set.
18. Dance as if you were 16 again. Put on a music program or MTV. Then dance like crazy, advises Peg Jordan, PhD, RN, author of The Fitness Instinct. "Free yourself to think of movement as something that you have a right to do," she says.
19. During commercials, jog in place. A 150-pound woman can burn up to 45 calories in 5 minutes. Or try our Couch-Potato Workout.
20. Do leg exercises and lifts with small weights while you watch The Weather Channel, cooking shows, movies, or the news.

While Traveling
21. Pack your sneakers and a fitness DVD. Call ahead to make sure your room has a DVD player. If it doesn't, ask to rent one from the hotel.
22. If you're traveling by car, stop twice a day for short, brisk walks and some stretching.
23. During layovers at airports, avoid the mechanized "moving carpets" that transport travelers from concourse to concourse. "If you're in between flights, walk around the concourse as much as you can," suggests Cluff.
24. Book a hotel room between the fifth and eighth floors, then ignore the elevator. Better yet, take two stairs at a time. (Check with the hotel first because for security reasons some hotels do not allow guests to use stairs except for emergencies.)
25. Do calf stretches while riding in elevators.

Health : Six ways to get ridoff headache at offices

1. Laughter Might not be the Best Medicine but it is Still a Handy Remedy
Any healthcare practitioner will tell you that when our senses our occupied with something laughable, we instantly tend to forget our bodily discomforts.
Whether you need to download jokes on our laptop or get hold of some witty colleague who can dole out the office rumors with his hilarious version, try to find some sources that can help you with a few laughs.  Laughing is know to promoted the release of endorphins - the feel- good hormones in our body that is also a very potent painkiller.
2. Refresh Your Senses
Headaches linked to anxiety and poor sleep are the most disturbing onces since they surface for longer periods and are not resolved with over -the-counter painkillers either.  When faced witha recurring headache, it is better to ditch the pills and rejuvenate yourself.  This can be done in many ways:

·                     Get Caffeinated - yes, coffe isn't nature's best painkiller because when teh caffeine rush subsides, you might feel the headache again but it works wonders for a couple of hours, helping you oversome sleep deprivation headaches.
·                     Get Sweaty- try to complete two rounds, up and down, the office staircase. When pushed into an activity that requires physical strength, your body automatically gets dosensitized from its pain centers, instantly relieving your worries.
·                     Get Chatty- seek the company of someone in or around the office with whom you can talk for 10 minutes or so. Having an engaging conversation might just be the stimulus you need to forget your anxieties.

3. Establish a Break Schedule
Your productivity is going to be hampered even if you are seated at your desk throughout the day with a bothering headache.  It is better to sacrifice a few moments of your work time for improving the overall efficiency. Try to seek more breaks.  The idea is to take shorter, timed and productive breaks.  This includes taking 5 to 10 minute breaks for :
·                     Taking a few deep breaths
·                     Having a glass of water
·                     Calling your loved ones
·                     Sitting in your parked car, enjoying the solitude
·                     Listening to your favored song on an MP3/iPad
·                     Getting a bite of chocolate
·                     Splashing your face with water
·                     Rotate your wrists and your head to loosen them

4.  Start Chewing Away Your Headache
Chewing the gum is one of the easiest ways of releasing the muscular tension across the face that often arises from the lower neck region. Chewing gum relaxes the entire facial surface, increasing the flow of blood minimally.  This cannot cure your headache but it can contribute towards lowering its intensity.
5. Get Your Posture Right
Try to maintain an ergonomic posture at work.  This is aimed at reducting the stress on your back and shoulder muscles.  These muscles are known to cause headaches when strained.
·                     Take a stock of your seating position and of the computer screen
·                     Ensure that you have sufficient back support to help your back muscles to relax
·                     You should be looking straight towards the screen without raising or lowering your neck too much
·                     The keyboard and your elbows should be placed at the same level
·                     You should sit straight, don't slouch or stoop over the keyboard
·                     Your legs should be firmly placed on the ground
·                     Use a document holder if you need to do a lot of paperwork
6. Use Office Exercises to Your Advantage
To relieve tensed neck and shoulder muscles, you need to undertake some basic exercises like the Seated Neck Release. Get started by placing your right hand against the right ear. Push your hand towards the left side and resist this force using your head. Now, do the same by using your left hand placed against the left ear. This exercise is used in various types of alternative medicines and yogic postures, underlining its effectivity.

Here are 11 Business secrets From Steve jobs (Apple)

Steve Jobs will be remembered as one of the greatest visionaries of our times. What he did for the technological as well as entrepreneurial world, cannot be easily forgotten.
Here are 11 business secrets from Steve Jobs:
People matter, not features
Everything Jobs built made life easier for you. It was rare to ever hear him babbling about features he created, instead he focused on how these products made life easier for others.
For example, the iPhone enabled you to talk on your phone, watch movies, record movies, and listen to music. As simple as that may sound, without an iPhone you may have to had to carry around a cell phone, mp3 player, and a video recorder. Because of him your pockets are much lighter.
He taught me, along with many others, not to focus on just adding features or creating products. First and foremost, you need to focus on solving problems that people are experiencing. If you can do that, you'll stay ahead of the curve.
There’s nothing wrong with pre-selling
Most companies launch products and then sell them. Jobs didn't do that with Apple. He let the public know what he was going to sell them, how it solved their problems, and that they could pre-order the product online.
You can do the same thing. Don't wait for your product or service to be released. Start selling it now. The money you earn today will help cover your costs and it will help solve any cash flow issues you may encounter during distribution.
Keep it simple, silly
I switched from a PC to a Mac because Macs are much easier to use. Or at least they are for my dad and 1-year-old nephew. Every Apple product I bought during Steve's tenure was simple to use.
He also created cool looking devices, but above all else his products were simple to use. For example, the iPad was the first device I was ever able to give my dad that required little to no instruction. There are no shut down or start options, you just click on applications and start using them.
If you want more applications, you just go to the App Store and download them.
Don't try to make your solutions complicated. Keep it simple... even if that means you have to strip off the bells and whistles. If you aren't creating usable solutions, it will be harder to gain traction.
Think big
If you are in business, you are there to make money. If not, you shouldn't be an entrepreneur. If you are going to create a business, create one that changes the world.
Apple isn't just a technology company, Steve Jobs changed the world. His products are used all around the world and by everyone. This is why Apple is the largest company in the world.
You won't be able to create a big company unless you solve big problems. Although you can make a nice living by conquering a small niche, you wont make billions doing it.
Focus, focus and focus some more
When you look at Apple's website, it seems like they have a lot of products, right? Well, for being a hundred-billion dollar company, they actually don't.
Jobs was smart, he always focused his energy on a few big products instead of trying to create thousands of small ones. In other words, he went for big wins instead of looking to hit singles and doubles.
With your business you shouldn't try to do multiple things. Just focus your time and energy on one product or service. As long as your core business continues to grow, you shouldn't do anything else. The moment your growth slows down and flattens, that's when you should expand.
Create an ecosystem
I never really understood the power of creating a platform until the iPhone was released. When the phenomenon hit the market and companies started to create applications, Apple grew to have a huge ecosystem.
Not only were they selling their products, other companies started to build products on the Apple platform and their customers were encouraged to buy and use Apple products.
By this point Apple didn't have to sell their products, other companies were doing it for them.
Steve Jobs created an ecosystem and he was able to do it around Apple products. If you want to grow a brilliant idea, you have to create an ecosystem for that idea to flourish.
There’s always room for innovation
The iPod wasn't the first mp3 player. There were hundreds of others that were already out before Apple released the iPod. That didn't discourage Jobs from entering the space... he just one upped everyone by creating a better product.
These days if you are looking to buy a music player, the first thing comes to your mind is the iPod, right? And what's the second brand that comes to your mind? Ummmmm... That's right, they demolished all of their competitors. The only other device that I can think of is the Zune, which kind of sucks.
Don't be afraid to enter a saturated market... you just have to be willing to stir things up. If you can innovate, you will win. If you decide to create another me-too company, expect to be crushed.
Be passionate
Did you know that Steve Jobs had a salary of $1 a year? That's right, he didn't care for money and he stated it publicly. He cared about the company, their products, and changing peoples' lives.
If you love what you are doing, you are going to work harder and be more likely to succeed. Heck, Jobs even worked hard when he was sick... that's how much he loved what he was doing.
Don't just do things for the money, do things because you love what you are doing. You aren't going to live forever, so enjoy your life while you can.
Ummmmm…
That's right, they demolished all of their competitors. The only other device that I can think of is the Zune, which kind of sucks.
Don't be afraid to enter a saturated market... you just have to be willing to stir things up. If you can innovate, you will win. If you decide to create another me-too company, expect to be crushed.
Never lose your investors money
Although Steve Jobs wasn't the CEO throughout all of Apple's history, he always took care of the company. He came back, and turned the company around. In other words, he grew shareholder money and took care of his investors.
As I stated earlier, Apple is the biggest company in the world. It's very difficult to create a decent size company without taking money from investors... so make sure you take care of them. And if you do so, they'll always take care of you.
Another great leader who also has a very similar rule is Warren Buffett. If you can take care of the people who are feeding you, they'll constantly be willing to reciprocate.

You’re nothing without your team
Apple has a ton of benefits: from onsite fitness centers to tuition assistance, they even have cafeterias with organic food. Why did they do all of this? To take care of their employees.
A big part of being a good leader is realizing that you have to have a good team. It's impossible to do everything yourself. If you don't take care of your employees and show your appreciation, you'll quickly lose them.
If you take care of your employees they'll put their blood, sweat and tears into your company.
Don’t Forget about your friends and family
As an entrepreneur when you work so hard for so many years, you tend to forget about your friends and family. All you do is live, sleep and breathe business.
At the end of the day, there is nothing wrong with that, but you also have to spend time with your friends and family. Money will always be there, but your friends and family won't.
When Steve Jobs got sick, he left Apple to spend his final moments with his friends and family. He knew what was important to him. You too need to figure out what's important to you no matter how much time your business or job takes from your life, don't forget about what's important.
